She’s Back!

Every week I cringed as I ignored the little WordPress tab, but it was done with good intentions! I have just finished my year 11 exams and may I just say how greatly I will celebrate my three days of freedom before I dive, head first into year 12. I’m excited, relieved and scared out of my wits that yet another year will pass, as if it only lasted one, very demanding day. But HOORAA IT”S OVER! Today, I woke up satisfyingly late, cleaned my room, took all my revision down from the walls and am just about to cook something I’ve been dying to cook for much too long-Lemon Meringue pie~

Happy holidays everyone,
A

“Are you going to eat that?”

Alice’s priceless expression can be interpreted in so many ways! My, how photogenic she is; really this is a lucky shot whilst she begged for her tennis ball that was firmly grasped in my hand.

I’d be rich if I received a dollar for every time I heard the phrase ‘it’ll happen when you’re ready’. Each time I heard it, I felt like that there was no better time than that second! How wrong I have been, only now have I finally realised you cannot rush some things, like maturity, habit, school; life has it’s own path already set. Gaining knowledge is another thing I wanted to happen over night, I’d marvel at people who, to me seemed like an endless walking encyclopaedia, would just continuously pull out a colourful string of facts out of their mouth like a magician with handkerchief’s up his sleeves. Countless details flooding my ears; I’ve realised that it does come with age, and patience is a virtue.
And although you can’t always have want you want or need, that doesn’t mean what’s happening in the present is less exciting or vital, that’s probably why people preach ‘live in the moment’, it’s true though..
I’ll go and live in the moment-sleep *exhales with satisfaction*

Follow that path everyone,
A

Ahem, Hallelujah!

The other weekend, I had such an amazing experience, one that I have been busting to share with you all! My lovely friend Edith invited me to her church, as I am a huge religion enthusiast, I could not wait to seize this opportunity, though I was a little hesitant because I didn’t want to seem like an intruder and I also didn’t really know what to expect. I have been to church before, though I have never been to a zimbabwean church, and that’s exactly where I was taken. As we arrived 45 minutes late, I somehow noticed that I was the only Australian in the whole room, which was pretty awesome! Everyone there had amazing voices, great passion and the energy in the room was so thick that I was left in awe. Never in my life have I seen so many people in pure bliss and emotion. I was hugged by every lady and girl, welcomed by all and shook hands with all the men.
I am still yet to find out what religion really means and who god truly is, but what I was shown that Sunday, was whether or not there is a divinity (and I am not denying any god at all) our passion is strong enough to give others’ hope, our own energy is mighty enough to raise others’ spirits and a simple hug soothes any bad day.

Keep believing everyone,
A

She’s Alive!

So finally I have managed to get my booty back on Word Press and release all those magnificent moments and thoughts through the magic of typing. I am sorry my dear bloggers, I will not let you down in such a way ever again! It is on my to do list to post something daily, so let’s see how much self motivation I have to actually fully execute this challenge! The main highlights of the past week have been not dying in several occasions.
Firstly in one of my many bike rides, I almost swerved into a streaming and terrifying flock of moving cars, if destiny took that course there would be one mashed-no puree of Ana splattered on wind screens and jamming people’s wheels..enough to feed two colonies of ants and a possum family of 6.
Secondly, on one magnificent day where I spent the majority of it seeing a great friend and riding a tremendously tedious train, the train I was meant to catch home, late at night encountered a rather spine tingling crash just 5 minutes away from my stop. Had that accident taken place just 15 minutes before it did..well let’s just be thankful it didn’t!
And lastly school.. the most common cause of death, but yet again I survived that too! Possibly because I actually enjoy learning and putting that grey brain matter to good use. I have a theory, if you spend all your childhood and adolescent years on one thing, why waste it by not fully joining in; school starts at the age of five (give or take a few years) and ends at eighteen, or never  for some. The sooner the younger generation realise they are throwing their life away whilst boosting their communication bridges by updating cringing photos and attention seeking statuses the sooner they will live their life. Excuse the rant, but I needed that more than you likely did.

Keep living everyone,
A

Super Spring Cleaning

Image

(photo from google)

It’s a beautiful twenty eight degree day and I’m getting ready for a huge task-spring cleaning. Through out my childhood I burned with desire to find forgotten toys, clothes and other wonders in my attic. Today is the day people! Although I don’t and never had an attic… Alas the downstairs of my house is so crammed with unwanted goodies that I’m figuratively shacking in my seat of excitement!
Sometimes you can’t help when your inner child seeps out of you, so why not go with it?

Happy spring cleaning everyone,

The wheel of Karma

Image

(photo from google)

Although karma will never be 100% confirmed and accepted, I still really believe we should follow it. This thought deprived me of sleep last night, so hopefully it interests you too.
My ravishing thought was that every life needs some form of guidance, hence the million different ways of life and religions swarming our very existence, ‘karma’ is an all around a beautiful thing. “There is more to your actions than you think!” it screams, or ‘what goes around comes around’ as Justin Timberlake belted in one of his songs. So if everyone is aware of their actions, whether it be sleeping in, eating nothing but fast food, skipping someone’s birthday, and the list goes on, then there would be less complaints, more happy strangers, fewer bad days, and plenty more sincere people!
Maybe you didn’t find this as interesting as I did, maybe you already knew this, either way I had to say it!

Happy days everyone,
A

penny saving, petrifyingly perfect pancakes!

The other day, I came across a pancake recipe that’s gluten free, lactose free, and healthy to the core! Now I’ll link you the website of this magnificence, but I did modify it that one bit more to really get those taste buds tingling.

For my recipe, you only need three ingredients; yes, you read right, THREE ingredients that makes about 4 pancakes the size of a small plate (not a saucer, not a dinner plate, but the one in between that has no name in my vocabulary; please if the is a technical word for it, save me further embarrassment and enlighten me with your wisdom). Those ingredients are one banana, 2 free ranged eggs and about a teaspoon of cinnamon. Blend these ingredients in a food processor or blender until smooth, or if you could have the batter a little chunky, which is quite nice also. When that’s all done get a small pan (I used a crepe pan which is really easy as I can’t flip a pancake) put on some butter/coconut oil/regular oil and place as much or as little batter in when the pan is hot. Leave it on medium heat, but not for long as the pancake, like any other food will inevitably burn after a few minutes.

Basically it’s a sweet omelette  but a great one at that! Toppings are necessary for you to enjoy this breakfast as much as I did, such as maple syrup, lemon and sugar, fresh berries, the list goes on.
